Sharon Shannon, World-renowned Musician

Sharon Shannon, one of Ireland’s greatest traditional musicians, is internationally acclaimed for her extraordinary button accordion playing prowess, has recorded and toured with Who’s Who of global music, entertained in locations from the White House to Glastonbury and has had her music feature in Hollywood films.

But there is another interesting dimension to Sharon. She is a committed campaigner for veganism, an animal rights activist, the organiser of regular community clean-ups along the Claddagh seashore and an environmental campaigner highlighting the need for a proper 21st century sewage infrastructure to end the outflow of obnoxious effluent into Galway Bay.
