Obehiaghe Innocent Ogah, The Direct Provision Centre Activist

Obehiaghe Innocent Ogah studied Business Administration before moving to Galway where he has built up a reputation as a volunteer extraordinaire both within the Eglinton Direct Provision Centre, where he and his family are currently resident, and the wider community of Galway city. He has been actively involved with the Galway International Arts Festival, the City of Culture 2020 and the Galway Conservation Volunteers. At the Eglinton he is highly respected by the residents for his leading role in the onsite community organic garden, in helping to organise social activities for residents of all ages and in promoting the status of refugees in the city. Not surprisingly he has been chosen for a Galway City Mayoral Award twice for his contributions in helping others, in 2016 and in 2018
