Noel Arrigan, Multi-media Artist
Noel Arrigan is a multi–media artist based in Galway who completed his honours degree in Fine Art, GMIT, 2012. He has been a board member of 126 Artist- Run Gallery and the Forge Clay Studios and is the current chairperson of Artspace Studios, Galway. His sculpture based work includes live performance, installation and manipulating found objects. Noel has exhibited and installed artworks throughout the country and also performed live in numerous events.
Over the years Noel has worked with art organizations including Tulca Arts Festival, Galway International Arts Festival, Contemporary Clay, Galway Arts Centre, K-Fest and has presented work to various groups. He was awarded several art bursaries and has completed various artist residencies.
Noel has a keen interest in science and the natural world. He made geodesic domes and tensegrity sculptures, wind powered installations and clock mechanisms to name a few. His interest in Nature and Ireland’s folklore led to him visiting and recording the wells around Clare and Galway.
