Mary Joyce Glynn, Galway and Claddagh Swan Rescue
Mary Joyce Glynn and her wonderful crew of volunteers at the Galway and Claddagh Swan Rescue will be fantastic champions for the Galway National Park City initiative and will bring so much knowledge to us all on caring for our wildlife.
The organisation was set up to help and protect swans (and other wild birds) in Galway and established Ireland’s first dedicated swan sanctuary at Lough Rusheen Park during 2011. Since then its dedicated group of volunteers have taken in innumerable injured or orphaned birds, reared them and rehabilitated them back into the wild. They are constantly getting calls from all over the country regarding injured wild fowl and are the only dedicated sanctuary available. So a big thank you to Mary and her team.
