Mark Kelly, The Green Campus Coordinator

Dr. Mark Kelly is a lecturer in the Department of Building and Civil Engineering at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. Mark has a special interest in education for sustainability, the circular economy, and sustainable communities of practice. He has led several applied research projects over the past 20 years, which have focused on preventing and reducing construction and demolition waste, resource efficiency in construction and the transition towards a circular built environment. Mark is the current Green Campus Chairperson for the GMIT Dublin Road campus and continues to lead several sustainability initiatives across the institute, including the facilitation of an Education for Sustainability module for higher education staff.

Mark is delighted to support the National City Park programme and will share his ongoing experiences in catalysing sustainability transitions both in industry and higher education.
