Fionnghuala Geraghty – The Primary School Teacher

Fionnghuala Geraghty has always been an observer of nature and an outdoor enthusiast.  She studied environmental science at Queens Belfast and her doctorate in Zoology at NUI, Galway.  Afterwards she travelled the world for over ten years as a contract ecologist and she got to work with some amazing people and wildlife!  Eventually the Galwegian came home to settle and she has three young eco-warriors with her green-minded husband.

She has a keen interest in outdoor education for all students and believes it can positively increase inclusion in our schools.  She has over twenty years of teaching experience, and is currently teaching in Scoil Chaitríona National School in Renmore.
