Dr Clare Noone, The Climate Action Research advocate
Dr. Clare Noone is a post doctorate researcher Climate scientist at the Ryan Institute’s Centre for Climate and Air Pollution studies (C-CAPS), School of Physics of NUI Galway. Her research areas include local air pollution, high-resolution weather and air quality modelling, the StreamAIR Air Pollution app development, low-cost air pollution sensors, Climate Change and Air Pollution as well as communications and science engagement.
The Centre for Climate and Air Pollution Studies (C-CAPS) is a globally acclaimed research centre performing cutting edge research into atmospheric composition, shining a light on the key drivers of climate change and air pollution under the Marine and Renewable Energy Ireland (MaREI) national research initiative.
In 2019, Clare coordinated the first roll out of the Cool Planet green cities and renewable energy programme to Galway schools with participants showcasing their completed projects at the Science Fair of the Galway Science and Technology Festival, an exhibition which regularly attracts over 20,000 visitors.
